Limited free version"Triage Emergency Room" is an application aimed at the triage nurse, created with the aim of supporting the operator in every phase of the process for assigning the priority code. It is a tool that facilitates the consultation of the protocols and in no way can or must influence the final decision which is exclusively up to the triagist. The triage decision is the final step in a process based on a myriad of factors, culminating in the assignment of the priority code. During the various phases of the process (1. Evaluation on the door; 2. Subjective evaluation; 3. Objective evaluation; 4. Triage decision; 5. Reevaluation) an infinite series of data are collected and processed which, added to the experience of the nurse and the resources made available by the operating unit, contribute to the assignment of a code, which expresses the risk of evolution of the main symptom. It follows that this activity is a moment of maximum autonomy for the triage nurse and that no software and no algorithm can replace the operator. It should be specified that, under no circumstance, this application can be used to settle disputes and controversies, regarding the attribution of the code."Triage First Aid" is only a valid tool for consulting the flow charts and for comparing the vital parameters, especially useful in children, as the threshold beyond which the parameters are defined as dangerous varies considerably according to age , and remembering all the tables is practically impossible.Furthermore, it should be emphasized that this application also works off-line and in no part of it there is the possibility of introducing, voluntarily or involuntarily, ones personal data or those of the patient. This application does not collect or store any data. Finally, it must be highlighted that each emergency unit has Triage protocols, developed by an interdisciplinary group (expert doctors and nurses), approved by the medical and nursing manager of the service and adequately disseminated and shared by all the professionals involved. "Triage First Aid" is an application created on the basis of the - "Marche Region Manual For Intra Hospital Triage" - and borrowing the table of vital parameters from the - "Regional Manual Triage Intra Hospital Lazio Model" - whose reference identified for the determination of the priority code are the result of the comparison between the most widespread international triage systems (ATS, CTAS, Manchester, ESI, French) and the sector literature, the experience gained over about 12 years of application of the Lazio model triage and the consensus of the panel of experts of the regional working group. For this reason, this application will never be able to completely satisfy the needs of a single operating reality. It is reiterated that this application can only be used for didactic and mnemonic purposes.
